On the situation analysis and work of Afghanistan.

Xu Xuefeng

Since the beginning of 2015, I have experienced two full and busy years in Algeria. Although the working hours are not long and I have not achieved outstanding results, it is still a valuable experience for me. Through two years of exercise and study, I not only benefited a lot from my work, but also had a new view and understanding of life. Now just on my personal discovery and understanding of the content, put forward personal immature ideas and opinions, hoping to contribute to the development of the company.
1、 Market situation in Algeria
Under the background of the global economic downturn, Algeria's economic situation is not optimistic. As an oil exporting country, Argentina has a single economic source and poor ability to deal with risks. In order to cope with the rising prices, the Afghan government has regulated domestic livelihood materials (diesel, food, etc.) by controlling imports and increasing tariffs. It is expected that the economic downturn in Afghanistan will continue, so it is difficult to ease the difficult situation in 2017. The branch company should adjust measures to the situation and take a conservative attitude to deal with the new changes.
Since the branch company settled in Algeria, it has successively submitted tenders for the construction project of Western University Town, two hotel renovation projects in southern desert area and eNPI housing project, but the results are not satisfactory. In addition, the government has adjusted and narrowed its housing program, especially the foreign exchange rate of housing projects, as low as 12.5%. At present, the old projects in Argentina are gradually ending, and new projects can not be undertaken, resulting in problems in the capital turnover of many foreign-funded companies, and many Chinese companies have withdrawn from the Arab market. This severe situation is obviously not conducive to the long-term development of our company in Algeria. In addition, our company is not suitable to undertake housing projects due to the lack of machinery, equipment and human resources in Algeria; There are few public construction projects, and the competition is extremely fierce, which is also difficult for our company. To improve this situation, I think we should not only exchange what we need with Chinese companies with strong strength and strong local influence, so as to lay a foundation for future cooperation, but also keep close contact with local owners, design institutes and other units to obtain new bidding trends in time. Once we grasp new resources, we can consider cooperating with other companies to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

2、 Development trend of branch in Afghanistan
(1) Base. The base has been put into use, and the construction and progress in the early stage have been reported to the domestic leaders. As the rental contract of the base has expired, I think we should continue to look for new partners and try our best to rent or sell the base. Individuals prefer to sell the base for the following reasons:
1. There is no sign of improvement in the economic situation of Afghanistan. The existence of the base has created a dilemma. If it is sold, the existence and operation of the branch will be more flexible and less affected by the negative impact of the market situation.
2. There are few managers in the branch company, and there is little demand for accommodation and office space, while the construction area of the base is about 2500 square meters, which is a waste of resources.
3. The rental fee is reasonable, about 50000 DA / month, equivalent to about 2000 yuan, which can basically meet the living conditions of the existing staff of the branch. This not only saves the cost of base maintenance and repair, but also can pay off the debt and put more funds into production. After the country's economy recovers and the branch's development situation is on the right track, the housing conditions can be improved according to the situation.
(2) Plastic steel plant. At the initial stage of the establishment of the plastic steel plant, due to lack of experience, the management, staffing, production and other aspects did not cooperate closely, resulting in increased production costs and low profits. After the acquisition of the second production line in mid October 2016, we fully learned from the previous experience and avoided many detours. Now we are on the right track, but there are still shortcomings. At present, the development of plastic steel plant is restricted by the following factors
1. Market competition pressure: due to the large market demand for plastic steel doors and windows in Argentina, many units in many countries are engaged in plastic steel production, and even there is a vicious competition situation of competing to lower the price.
2. Capital turnover: the working capital of our company's plastic steel plant is the advance payment and project payment paid for the cooperation project. If the project payment is not timely, there will be a hidden danger that the capital chain of the plastic steel plant will break and the plant will be shut down.
3. Purchase of raw materials: all the raw materials purchased by our plastic steel plant are locally and Turkish imported profiles (the unit price is higher than the domestic import price), and the production cost is higher than other units.
Therefore, in order to make the plant bigger and stronger, we must have a clear understanding of the above factors, so as to prevent and avoid risks as much as possible.
In addition, we should also pool our wisdom, open up ideas and be good at discovering new opportunities. For example, the majority of housing projects in Afghanistan now use integrated cabinets. The overall cabinet is simple, high profit, and has a broad prospect. The branch company can consider to carry out diversified operation: the staff of the plastic steel plant can take into account the processing of the whole cabinet while producing doors and windows, and can also purchase some auxiliary materials and accessories needed by the plastic steel plant while importing the whole cabinet equipment from China, so as to achieve more with one stone.
(3) Work experience
Two years of working and studying in Algeria made me grow up rapidly. Contact with many new areas, let me from a little knowledge before to now familiar, especially in the base construction and production of plastic steel plant, not only increased knowledge and experience, but also learned to deal with and solve problems. In the exchange and collision with other people's values, I think I can adhere to the right and abandon the wrong. However, the way of dealing with people is not mature, and there is a lack of communication with leaders and colleagues. I should further improve myself and improve my self-cultivation. In the work, we should guard against arrogance and rashness, overcome the shortcomings of carelessness, and ensure that we can deal with possible difficulties and challenges in a calm state.

In addition, I also realize that the two years I have worked abroad are also the two years when I have a gap with others. There are certain limitations in terms of knowledge reserve and professional accumulation. Therefore, I hope to make up for the deficiencies as soon as possible, make up for the shortcomings, and make greater progress in my work!
